The AFTA PLAN is an optional gap protection plan available through AmeriFreight Auto Transport. Every carrier in our network carries federally required cargo coverage. However, certain damage situations may fall outside the scope of standard carrier coverage. The AFTA PLAN provides an additional layer of protection for eligible damage scenarios. AFTA PLAN recipients have 48 hours from the time of vehicle delivery to report any damage through the plan. The AFTA PLAN is not insurance — it is a gap protection product. Whether it is right for your shipment depends on your vehicle and your preferences. Your agent can explain the details at the time of your estimate.

The U.S. Department of Transportation does not permit personal items to be transported inside vehicles during auto transport. If a carrier allows personal items at their individual discretion, it will be subject to an additional fee and must be discussed and agreed upon with the carrier before transport begins. AmeriFreight Auto Transport recommends keeping personal items out of the vehicle during transport. Items left in the vehicle are not covered under any carrier protection or the AFTA PLAN.

AmeriFreight Auto Transport does not ship vehicles directly to Hawaii. We can coordinate transport of your vehicle to a California port for handoff. Ocean freight from the California port to Hawaii must be arranged separately — Matson is a commonly used and reputable carrier for this service. AmeriFreight Auto Transport does not currently offer shipping to Alaska.

You may cancel your shipment without charge at any point before your vehicle has been dispatched to a carrier. Once a carrier has been dispatched, the cancellation terms that apply will be communicated by your agent at the time of booking. AmeriFreight Auto Transport does not charge cancellation fees for orders cancelled prior to dispatch.
